Representative Experience:

  • Represented one of the largest U.S. air carriers in a jury trial and appeals through to the Texas Supreme Court establishing C.O.D. airline contract law in Texas.
  • Represented a German aircraft manufacturer in a case involving, among other things, The Hague Evidence Convention, this particular issue being presented to the United States Supreme Court.
  • Represented a Michigan contractor in the trial court and appeals through to the Texas Supreme Court and established in Texas the obligation to arbitrate Deceptive Trade Practices claims under an interstate contract.
  • Represented a multi-national company on a claim arising out of a botched aircraft conversion recovering $20 million when the initial demand was $13 million.
  • Negotiated and closed acquisitions of four DC9 aircraft from U.S. Airways.
  • Negotiated and closed capital leases on two former Northwest Airlines B-727 aircraft.
  • Addressed crises with the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration restoring credibility and a strong, constructive working relationship.
  • Developed the methodology and supervised the preparation of a Termination for Convenience claim against the U.S. Government resulting in a recovery in excess of $20 million.

  • UNITED STATES AIR FORCE RESERVES, Pilot/Instructor Pilot: 1974-1977. While in law school, served as C-141 Starlifter Instructor, completing operations in Central America, South America and the United States.
  • UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, Pilot/Instructor Pilot:   1969-1974.   Progressed from C-141 Starlifter Co-Pilot to Aircraft Commander to Instructor, completing operations in Southeast Asia, Europe, South America, Africa, the Middle East and the United States.
